is by audition, with consideration for section size and class
standing ● private instruction is strongly recommended ● competes annually at the Grade V level in the District XII Orchestra Festival ● meets frequently after school for combined rehearsals with Symphonic Orchestra |

Concert Orchestra (6th Period) | |

● membership
is through completion of the Intermediate class ● private instruction is encouraged but not required ● competes annually at the Grade IV level at the District XII Solo & Ensemble Festival ● often combines with Symphonic class for larger orchestral works |

Freshman Orchestra (7th Period) | |
|
● membership is for freshmen
beginning their exposure to high school orchestra ● class is intended as a training program for more advanced sections ● involves a “lab” component geared for students without private instruction ● competes at the Grade III or IV level at the District XII Solo & Ensemble Festival |

Chamber Orchestra (4th Period) | |

• membership is by director’s
choice and suited to individual projects • represents LHS at: |
