Carnegie Hall Performance Trip

The Langley High School Orchestras have successfully auditioned to participate in the 2008 National Youth Concert, to be held at Carnegie Hall on April 19, 2008, in New York City.  This performance will be the centerpiece of this year's Spring Trip to New York City, continuing our celebrated tradition of combining outstanding performance with fun and camaraderie. In addition to the Carnegie Hall performance, trip plans include museum tours, sightseeing, and a Broadway show.  All orchestra students are invited to participate in the trip.  We also invite parents to come as chaperones!
Trip costs will include transportation via chartered motorcoach, accommodations at the Sheraton Hotel for two nights, most meals, admission to all trip activities, and National Youth Concert fees. Final details and costs will be determined as soon as we know how many students will participate.  Therefore, we ask parents to return the trip intent form (link below) as soon as possible but no later than Wednesday, October 10, 2007 indicating whether your student will participate in the trip and the performance at Carnegie Hall.

We're looking forward to another great orchestra trip!

The LHS Orchestra has been honored to represent our school and our community through our performances away from our home at Langley. In June 2006, a group of 45 Langley students traveled to Austria to perform as participants in Mozart's 250th birthday celebration. They played a brilliant concert to a large, enthusiastic audience in Salzburg, and I am proud to say that our students acted as worthy ambassadors of our school system and our country.
