It’s that time of year to begin transitioning for the next school year. Tri-M will hold elections for next year’s student officers on Friday, May 13th during Langley Links.

Parents or guardians of current orchestra students can vote for Langley Orchestra Society’s proposed slate by Tuesday, May 17th (11:59 pm) at this link.

The spring membership meeting, during which election results will be announced, will take place on Wednesday, May 18th @ 1:30 pm in the orchestra room. Doc will also give an overview of plans for our upcoming “Out of this World” concert and senior celebration.

Students have been working hard to prepare for our final concert of the school year, “Out of this World.” Our concert day schedule is as follows:

3:00-3:45 Concert Orchestra
3:45-4:30 Seniors (with band)
4:30-5:15 Philharmonic (with band)
5:00-6:00 Moe’s Southwest Grill dinner in cafeteria ($12 per student – sign up here)
6:15-6:45 Black box entertainment
7:00-8:30 Out Of This World concert
8:30ish Ice Cream Social honoring the Class of 2022

We would greatly appreciate food donations for our hospitality tables, as well as volunteers to assist with dinner, serve at our hospitality tables, or scoop ice cream after the concert. Please check out our SignUpGenius to see how you can help. We are an entirely volunteer-driven organization and we appreciate any help to finish out our year with a (space) bang!

Langley Orchestra volunteers needed at feeder schools’ spring concerts

Our feeder schools are finally getting ready to have their first live orchestra concerts since the pandemic — and they would be grateful for some Langley volunteers to help with tuning and other last-minute concert prep. Tri-M members will receive hours for volunteering, so please consider signing up to help out.

Churchill Elementary – Tuesday, May 17th

Spring Hill Elementary – Thursday, May 19th

Cooper Middle School – Wednesday, June 1st (NOTE DATE CHANGE!)

Colvin Run Elementary – Thursday, June 2nd (2 concerts)

See you at the Car Wash!

Hope to see everyone at the car wash this Saturday, April 23rd at the BP in McLean (1423 Chain Bridge Road – corner of Old Dominion) from 10:00-4:00. Parents can sign up to volunteer or provide food donations here. We welcome everyone to stop by and would especially appreciate volunteers willing to contribute old towels. Students can sign up to volunteer at the car wash on the orchestra white board — shifts will be 9:30-11:30, 11:30-1:30, and 1:30-4:00. Students should wear an orchestra t-shirt or polo, bring their own reusable water bottle, and an old towel.

For those unable to stop by, please consider donating to our car wash fundraiser – no donation is too small!

Thanks for your support of our car wash!
