Each year students in Langley Orchestra (and schools across the state) audition for coveted spots in the Virginia Band & Orchestra Directors Association’s Honor Ensembles. Langley HS is part of District XII in Virginia, and Virginia’s Northern Region.
Senior Regional Orchestra (SRO)
2026-2027 SRO Auditions will take place on Tuesday, Sep 29, 2026 at Lake Braddock Secondary School. The SRO concert will be on November 12-14, 2026 at TBD.
Registration will open after the summer break in August. Please talk to Doc during the Orchestra class to sign up for the audition. Auditions will be $10 per student.
Below please find the SRO audition information, excerpts and scales. Scales must be memorized and SRO audition will include a sight reading section.
District XII Honors Orchestra (DHO)
2026-2027 DHO Audition will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at TBD
The DHO concert will be on January 8-9, 2027 at Langley HS
