Celebrating the Class of 2023 – Blazing Bows Concert
The Langley Orchestra ended the school year in style at the Blazing Bows Concert on Tuesday, May 23rd. The year-end western-themed concert celebrating the class of 2023 filled the auditorium to capacity, including many alums.

Concert Orchestra started off the evening with Aaron Copland’s Hoe Down, followed by William Hofeldt’s Speckled Hen Overture. The Junior Class, accompanied by a number of Langley Band students and several professional accompanists, started its set with Richard Meyer’s Legend of the Ghost Stallion. Hans Zimmer’s Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, followed by Elmer Bernstein’s The Magnificent Seven concluded the junior performance. Philharmonic Orchestra took the stage next, with a rousing rendition of The Cowboys Overture by John Williams and Ghost Riders in the Sky by Stan Jones.
Finally, the Class of 2023 took the stage, leading with an amazing performance of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, featuring Wesley Chang on the electric guitar and Tim Kuanyshev on the electric bass, complete with whistling by members of the senior class. The audience was treated to a showcase of two Langley sopranos, junior Ashley Headrick and senior Catherine Knecht, during Ennio Morricone’s The Ecstasy of Gold. And after a presentation of a new violin case and Shutterfly book to Doc by the senior class, the audience enjoyed seeing the Class of 2023’s college destinations slideshow during the final piece of the night, Stayin’ Alive. Originally by the Bee Gees, this version of Stayin’ Alive was arranged by percussionist and Langley HS Class of 2011 alum Craig Hunter. The concert program and senior slideshow can be found below:
A special thank you to Rania Razek for her amazing concert photos. They have been posted to Shutterfly and along with her other photos, can be accessed via links from the photos page on this website.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!!

Spring Car Wash

The slight drizzle on Saturday morning, April 29th didn’t stop our student and parent volunteers from washing a lot of cars and raising funds to pay for our spring sectionals. Special thanks to Car Wash Parents Becky Fulton & Lalitha Ketineni for organizing a great event at a new location, the Great Falls Exxon (9829 Georgetown Pike). Exxon Manager Saman Limouee was gracious in hosting the Langley Orchestra without charging a fee – thank you Saman!!

Thank you to all of the students who came out and worked at the wash!!

Thank you to photographer Rania Razek for all of her wonderful photos from the car wash. More photos can be found at this link.
