“Fantasia Asia” Rehearsal Schedule
 (Artwork courtesy of Clemence Zou)The first concert of the year, “Fantasia Asia,” will take place at 7pm on Tues, Oct 17. For this concert, students must wear the black Langley Orchestra polo shirt and black pants or skirts. Alternatively students (and families) are encouraged to wear traditional Asian attire! All students are required to attend concert-day rehearsals. The rehearsal schedule is: 3:00 Concert Orchestra (Freshman & Sophomores) 3:45 Symphonic Orchestra (Juniors & Seniors) 4:30 Free Pre-concert Chinese Dinner Begins (orchestra students only) (Cafeteria)* 6:00 Langley Hall reception** 6:30 Philharmonic 6:45 Students take their places 7:00 Concert begins 8:30 Concert ends (approximate) |
Rice, as well as White Rice and Fortune Cookies. Dinner will begin at 4:30 in the cafeteria and is available to orchestra students only.
**Please make plans to join us beginning at 6pm for a pre-concert Celebration of Asian Culture in Langley Hall featuring traditional foods, decor, music, and dance of various Asian cultures. Please click this link to the SignUp Genius to bring your favorite Asian-inspired foods by 6:15pm or to help with set up.
Starting at 3:25 pm on concert day, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be sold in Langley Hall. Sales will be CASH ONLY – $15 for a dozen glazed doughnuts or $2 for a single donut.

Congrats to Langley’s SRO representatives 2023!
Congratulations to the following students who were selected among hundreds of students who auditioned on Monday, October 2rd, 2023 for the Northern Virginia Senior Regional Orchestra:
Audrey Goodner (concertmaster)
Gemma Shi (principal 2nd violin)
Bennett Huang (1st violin)
Finn Fitzgerald (viola)
Amiliya Smith (cello)
Griffin Krupp (alternate bass)
These students will participate in the Northern Virginia Senior Regional Orchestra event November 9-11, 2023 at Wakefield HS, and will be eligible to audition for the All-VA Orchestra in late February. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Hail to Our Volunteers at the Car Wash!
A big thank you to all students and parent volunteers that came out on last Saturday to help with the car wash! A special thanks to Becky Fulton and Lalitha Ketineni, our Car Wash Parents, as well as Arnav Ketineni, the Tri-M Car Wash Coordinator, for helping to organize the event! Last but not least, thank you to the firefighters that came to wash their truck with us! We appreciate your service! The funds raised will be used for all orchestra related things like sectionals coaches and the upcoming trip to Nashville.
